1) avoid descriptions like "hybrid" or "multiple animals." These are accurate on a genetic level, but not visually, so unless you've been educated as to his nature by a scientist (basically Paulio, probably Petrov also knows by now, maybe some other NPCs, but I wouldn't know), you would probably never guess his nature.
Any layman in our world who saw him would likely call him an alien or a mutant, or just a 'freak.'
On a quick inspection, his whole body is comprised of 1) blue-grey skin, 2) 4 claws on each foot, and 3) Big blue eyes. So not really reminiscent of any animals.
2) People have been doing well so far, but I want to make sure that we're consistent and nobody calls him 003. I've been using that in my narrator voice, but definitely for any dialogue or internal monologue, you should write out the number. (or give him a nickname). The tattoo is =003= in text form, so you could call him "Three" or "Double oh Three" or something else.
In fact the only time you could use 003 is if a) you don't know who he is AND b) you're not looking at him. Because if the first is not true, just use Three, and if the second is not true, just try do describe his appearance or the impression your character would have of him.
But if both are true you could say, "Maurice arrived at the meeting room just before 003 and the others did. He sat at the front and never looked around."
But even then you could just write Three.
